Description

This is a unique tour in the world, as near Isla Contoy we can find the largest concentration of whale sharks in the world, making this area the global capital for swimming with these gentle giants. Upon arriving at the marina, coffee and pastries will be provided, and after listening to the safety and informational briefing, life jackets will be put on before boarding our 36-foot boats, each for 10 people. We will then sail to the area where the whale sharks are located. Once found, we begin swimming in pairs with a certified guide, and we stay in the area for about 2 and a half hours. During this time, you will have the opportunity not only to swim with whale sharks, but occasionally with giant manta rays, dolphins, and turtles in their natural habitat.

What to Expect?

Day 1 :

Encounter with giants

Whale sharks are the largest fish in the world and can reach up to 12 meters in length. However, they are completely harmless to humans and primarily feed on plankton.

Day 2 :

Snorkeling in crystal-clear waters

During the tour, you will be provided with all the necessary equipment for snorkeling and will have the opportunity to dive into the warm, crystal-clear waters of the Caribbean.

Day 3 :

Nature at its finest

In addition to the whale sharks, you will be able to observe other marine species such as manta rays, sea turtles, and a wide variety of tropical fish.

Day 4 :

Unique experience

Swimming alongside these majestic animals is a unique experience that will connect you with nature in a special way.

Day 5 :

Expert guides

The tours are led by professionals who will provide you with all the necessary information about the whale sharks and ensure a safe and fun experience.

Day 6 :

After the encounter with this magnificent species, we will make a quick visit to one of the most beautiful islands in the world, Isla Mujeres, where you can relax a bit while the guides prepare ceviche and your sandwich.

The dock fee is mandatory, and the price is $20 USD per person. Non-refundable.
This activity is not permitted for individuals who are: Pregnant, have neck/back pain, recent surgeries, or asthma
During the tour, the following are prohibited: Smoking, alcoholic beverages, glass containers, drugs or narcotics.
Respect the animals: Follow your guide's instructions and do not touch the whale sharks or any other marine species.
Be patient: Whale sharks are not always easy to find, so be patient and enjoy the marine scenery.
Season: The best time to see whale sharks varies by location, but it is generally during the warmer months.
Physical condition: It is recommended to be in good physical condition, as swimming in open water is required.
Sunscreen protection: Use biodegradable sunscreen and a hat to protect yourself from the sun.
Respect for the environment: Avoid touching the whale sharks and do not use any type of insect repellent.
Seasickness: If you are prone to seasickness, take the necessary precautions before the trip.
Food: We recommend having a light meal before the tour.
